I think it will not work if the US invades Iran. A democracy must come from inside a country; it cannot be imported.

Iraq has taught the world that lesson.

Personally, I don't believe in monarchy; even in the countries such as England there are lots of discussions going on that they don't need to keep royal family as the symbol of unity. Going back to that system eventually wont work for Iran as well...

Dear Shayan,

As Iranians we must unite and sing the same tune: Democracy for Iran. We on the outside are reday for it, Iranains inside the country are reday for it. Be it a royalist all the way to a communist everybody is reday for it.

What should we do? Together push for a referendum that will peacefully end the bitter question. A referndum about what? It will be a basic question : Do you want democracy and freedom and liberty based on a Parliamantary Monarchy such as the ones in Western Europe where the King or the Queen reigns but doesn't rule but the Parliament and the Government and its loyal opposition set the political agenda with elections in between or a Presidential system based on the Western European countries where the President rules with the help of a political majority. He or she will run the country for a period of time until the elections are called.

Based on the answer a new constituion will be drafetd and elections will be held the elect the Parliament (either in a Monarchy system or a Presidential system) and the government.

It is only then that we can say we have a true country and a true political future.

That is my opinion.
